June Of 44 - Sharks And Sailors
So I am going to start this off with June Of 44. A band that helped me get through some real boring times when I was going to school down in Florida. I was lucky enough to see them live down in Orlando with Hum at the Sapphire. My friend Kevin and I were screaming for this song. It was on an EP, The Anatomy Of Sharks, but this 11-plus minute epic was probably one of their best songs ever. Jeff Mueller’s vocal recordings were always sounded like they were through a bullhorn. Don’t quite get that effect live but the audience participation usually covered for it. Their debut, Engine Takes To Water, is a good place to start with them.
